Processing Power

This is for any RPG related out-of-character stuff like rules discussions, character ideas, loot wishlists, etc. If it's about game mechanics in any way, it goes here.

I am of course speaking of podcast processing. While I wait for the normalizing process to finish... let's hang out in the forums together!

If you jump in front of the TV while Greg is attempting a tricky jump, the podcasts will encode faster.
Seriously.
I read it in a book.
A real book made of paper.
Yep.

hehehe.... speaking of processing power I've just upgraded all of my computer parts in my Tower, and while they aren't the best on the market right now I can still run games like Skyrim on Ultra settings and get like a constant 50fps. So I was wondering what your guy's setup is for your own PCs? Links below if you care to see what I got.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103961 Processor! This is where the magic happens.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130770 Video Card! It's huge! Almost as big as a 2liter of soda.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817152042 700w power supply! The thing is a freaking night light in my room.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813157281 The Motherboard. Where the other magic happens.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811103011 Bitchen new Tower case. It's twice as big as my crappy old HP case from best buy.

My Hard drive is 596 GBs, and I have 2 4GB sticks of SR3 RAM in my Motherboard.

Podcasts were being processed 9 hours ago, that means we will have some more Thursday Knights in the next 12? That would be fantastic!

Additionally, I run a i7 processor with 8GB RAM, 500GB SSD, and dual 20" monitors. Not amazing, but pretty fantastic.

So have any of you guys pledged to any projects on kickstarter, there's some cool stuff going on there, for example I'd think Cailin would love to get this art book since she loves drawing.

Personally I've donated to Cult - Awakening of the old ones and Malevolence - The Sword of Ahkranox.

Killed his sensei in a duel and he never said why

I can't really place my finger on exactly why, but I keep thinking that Wrenn were an alcoholic beverage, he might just be the Ginger Scald.

Something about it seeming sweet and unassuming while having a solid kick, and actually using a hot poker in the preparation just feels very Wrenn to me.

1. I thoroughly approve of that course of action.
2. Seriously - BE CAREFUL. They aren't kidding when they say that touching a hot metal rod to the glass (even at room temperature) can cause it to shatter.
3. If you're in the mood for some appropriate reading while you mix and enjoy, please check out the novel that inspired the drink! The Lies of Locke Lamora is an excellent story (as is the sequel, Red Seas Under Red Skies), and I would suggest it to anyone who enjoys fantasy... even if I didn't know the author :)

I could see Brandis as Rolling Rock (he has, after all, been everywhere man). He also gathers no moss.
AND his progeny even wrote a song about it; Papa Was A Rolling Stone (if you are in a hurry to bypass the amazing intro and go right to the lyrics they start at 4:00)

I'm lovin' the Arrogant Bastard too, btw.

Listening to Episode 124... I am once again impressed with Greg's/our mechanics for the "encounter." Considering how "on the fly" it was I think it went pretty well. As a matter of fact, I think we should run a few more "encounters" this way. It was fun to do and MUCH more fun to listen to. I'm not saying we should abandon 4th edition altogether (especially considering the time left in the campaign), but the free-form of it all was fun to participate in. Just my two cents.

**EDIT** To add to the above, as I continue to listen, I hate Sam so much in 124
