On a scale of 1 to 10, just how badly is Deomin wanting to go to track down his Valdai right now?

I'm up for wherever the wind blows us.

:)

You dangle the Valdai in front of Deomin, and it looks something like this:

Ive been thinking alot about this one and Im kinda torn between a few things.

1) Deomin's character
2) Making group decisions
3) Preparation of sessions

1) Deomin wants to help save the world because its his world and he doesnt want to die and he doesnt want his small circle of family to die. That said, he isnt the guy that would weep if a big city full of people he didnt know fell into the sea. When save the world stuff comes up its really important to do something about it, unless there is something more urgent that affects his core group of people. A lead toward finding his people inevitably grabbed his interest, the fact that a clan member died delivering the message gave it a little bit of urgency...on top of the pressure that was already there.

Decision-wise, Hugh, Arora, Brandis, and Wrenn seem to be ok(for us). After that, leaving others to hunt the Valdai while he focuses on something else is like trying to take the SAT's in the middle of a Radiohead concert. Sure, the SAT's gotta happen, but RADIOHEAD IS PLAYING RIGHT NOW!

2) Deomin at times will force the groups hands by making rash and impulsive moves. This ONLY happens in the moment as Deomin gets emotionally charged/unstable. In decision-making situations he will often promote reckless moves, but then defers to others with more tact and understanding to choose a course of action. So goes with the decision to hunt now. Deomin will promote what he feels strongest about and he relies on the group to take it all in and make a call together. The chance of Deomin bailing on the group to do what he wants after a decision is made together is VERY remote. Dont mix him up with Aurum who was in it for himself and extremely self-centered.

3) I realize that Deomin sometimes promotes options that havent been given the full Team Laabs prep. I dont expect Greg to abandon alot of finely prepared material just because of one character's inclination. Additionally, I want to be clear that I personally dont mind a less-well-prepared tangent at all if the group is down to make an unexpected turn. My love of going off-road is known and though prepared stuff Is great, Ive seen everyone at TK do incredible things off-the cuff.

SHORT ANSWER: Deomin = 10, Eric = 5(just expect to hear Deo-stress all the way if we go a different direction)

I know this was more of a post asking Deomin, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents too.

WRENN WANTS THE CRIMSON STONE ROD

Ok, seriously now, Wrenn is up for whatever makes most sense. Once we get the key to Orva it sounds like we can go there any time. The Raven Queen isn't acting real lovey-dovey with us right now, so that can probably wait. That leaves meeting with Mephistopheles or tracking the Valdai. We could probably blow off the Devil lord, but not for too long. If it means we can have a more agreeable Deomin and less Deo-stress it may be worth investigating his family for now, then see what the Devils want. After that, I'd say pay the Raven Queen a visit then check out Orva. That's my take at least.

^This

Imo time wise a meeting with the Devil lord doesn't seem like it would take up more than say 40 mins of the Corum's time in game, so I say just get it out of the way first so the Group doesn't have to deal with a pissed off Mephistopheles. Not saying you guys couldn't take him in a fight right now, but you kinda need him to fight in the blood war, not recovering from wounds. Plus you COULD gain some useful information from him. It just seeems to me that putting the talk with Mephistopheles on the back burner right now can't be justified IMO and seems silly to do, and it wouldn't take up alot of time. Admittedly I could be completely wrong and Mephistopheles could ambush you when you meet up with him, but there is no concrete evidence to prove that right now. Plus if you all (sans Lincoln) are really worried about it you can all try praying to your various gods for Divine protection (Excluding Brandis, Crom doesn't listen.), Hugh could even put a offering to Avandra for better odds if he wanted to. Hell if it works out you might be able to call in some elemental wind spirits from Akadi / angles from The Platinum Dragon. All in all is doesn't hurt you either way to pray to your gods for help. So besides the meeting what I'd like to see happen is...

1. Deomin's Quest<- Can you say building an army of Wind elf elementals!? I say fuck yeah! Plus Deomin need's to find a girlfriend >.> (Brandis and Arora are already married, Hugh has all the Whores, and Wrenn has been courting Freda since Paragon Tier. I feel like Deomin is being left out honestly.)

2. Meeting with the Raven Queen<- real close second, I'm very interested to know what could come out of this meeting.

3. Use that key you got and try to find time's Arrow<- Upgrade for Hugh? More RP for Sam? Always good.

4. Search for the rest of the Ruby shards<- you already know where some possible locations are.

5. Figure out the ship docking thing and or get info from the other librarys.

6. Make Blackwood get his shit together. Nuff Said

7. Whenever you get to Dark World, start searching for the Crimson Stone Rod.<- 100% upgrade for Lincoln

8. MOAR Seldi time? Other dolls? MOAR Mindflayers? The possibilities are truly endlesssly evil! :D

9. Dig up some info on Hasten's Origins?

10. Recruit More Doppelgängers for your Master of Secrets to use?

11. Investigate possible mining operations you could do on where that crystal flame Cavern is in on your time line? Supposedly Far underground? Possible upgrades to your ship? Make it sentient? Living crystal hull? Could Deomin turn them to wind crystals? Sounds pretty epic if you could have a Wind infused crystal shardmind ship siding. Have the shardmind obey Deomin? New weapons for your thunderstrike army? Armor perhaps? Or just more gold? It would be kinda boring if all you get is gold imo. I'd like to see more ship upgrades personally. Give that Tiefling girl of yours something to work on.

Just my two cents. Hope I didn't step on anyone's toe's at the saying goes.

~~Part 2~~~
This kinda brings up some possible RP you guy could/ would have?

1. I'll can say that Deomin's Quest has a 95% chance of happening first right now. That said Eric is going to have (I believe) a fuckton of RP time to go crazy looking for the Valdai. It's going to be an epic adventure.

2. Brandis.... in a nut shell we need to hear more about him. His interactions with his wife have been interesting, but not amazingly interesting to be honest. It's probably only me though. With Events as of late the Raven Queen thing is on hold so this is a shout out to Dan, I want to see you raising the RP bar tomorrow with Eric and fleshing out Brandis's character more. I know impossible right? But I believe Dan can do it. If he needs a starting point he could work off some of this...
A. More info on the backstory of your Blade. Who forged it? Was is a blessing from Crom? Your father's Blade? Who wove the enchantments into it?
B. The Tomb? Was that the Mighty tomb of Brandis? When his body goes while waiting for Crom to reincarnate him into the next life? Has there been any other investigations into the tomb/ island?
C. Past lives. We havn't Really heard Brandis talk about any of them in detail. Perhaps he could finally regale the Group with one? Perhaps When he Lead an assault on a Powerful Undead Archwizard and claimed the Blade of Unending Death?

3. Arora, More facetime with your Daughter? Other than that I'd think it would be interesting if she also got some face time with her god, see if he knows about the impending threat. I think the group has only gotten to talk to Deomin's god face to face.

4. Hugh for the most part has alot of RP opportunities to flesh out some back story for his character tomorrow.

5. Wrenn.... I don't see the Meeting happening this week so other than more conversation with Freda I'm not sure what you would do? Also Lincoln has Wrenn put any thought into opening his own spellcasting academy? Sort of like what Arath did but better? Actually start training your own wizards? It would get alot of people, Important people paying tons of gold to have their children trained in magic. Plus Wrenn give's me the impression that he loves having authority and being a Headmaster at a school he made seems vary appropriate to his character. Also has he taken on an apprentice? Someone he can teach all his magicks to? Kind of like a a rule of two thing from star wars.

~~again my opinions, I don't want to offend anyone. Just what I see possibly happening tomorrow. :D

Some behind the scenes trivia:

Each of the paragon tier NPC party members was given a nickname for prep materials. Kalla was "the Lorekeeper", Heptos was "the Endless Shepherd". Stoyla was originally penned in as "the Apprentice" and was intended to end up being someone who looked up to Wrenn as a mentor and would (if Wrenn allowed the story to move this way) become his apprentice. When it came time to introduce her, she sort of spontaneously turned in to a corpse-gating Kaylee-inspired badass, and the whole apprentice thing didn't end up happening. This also ended up happening because Deep Imaskaar was put off for so long that she had to be introduced right at the tail end of the story, so there wasn't as much time to develop the whole apprentice thing.

Interesting stuff...

Brandis has definitely been needing to get some RP off his chest, so you can expect that in the near future! I mean, Raven Queen taking a special interest in Brandis, getting all up in his dreams? Wife of Brandis is going to be piiiiiiiissed.

As for our next move, I want to get back to the Elemental Chaos, but wouldn't be torn up if we headed to Orva first.

Me and my avatar, who was now recently promoted to Prinny Instructor of Hades(no offense to Wrenn but not all demons are chaotic, at least the ones in Disgaea, but then one Miss Scarlet called them devils, which would have the former gnome writhing in embarassment  ), are understanding of Deomin's predicament - after all, we wish to finish Valvatorez's quest but life precedes all else. :(

He should learn a bit of patience, but then again, wind-elf-elemetal epic heroes have a chaotic mind of their own and that is what makes Deomin memorable, just like Wrenn blowing up at the slightest slight or Arora screaming about being morally correct and just...and Hugh putting his hand on his face and grumbling "Later, I'll tell you later" when people try to bring up stories of his past. He he. :D

Yeah, you guys should probably contact the actual non-jerk gods about the whole 'end of the world' thing. Of course, you might have some trouble convincing them.
I would like to see you guys touring around the astral a bit, there are some cool places up there, and it might be useful to at least try to notify some of those big glowy folks.

Wrenn talking to the Gods would be like Ahmadinejad speaking at the UN.....and we all know how that turns out.

I just say what everyone else is thinking. I'm keeping it real. No pussyfooting around the issue!

Make no mistake - Wrenn has a lot of confidence in what he says, it just isn't always the right thing to say in a given situation
